SPECTRUMOn Saturday 5th March 2011 a major event called SPECTRUM will be held bringing together Christians from across the Bristol area united in interest and awareness for the city and in prayer and service, to celebrate the diversity of engagement with the needs of the people of Bristol. The event will be a day of musical celebration with choirs and music groups from across the city and a major place of sharing between the many Christian projects who will be present, demonstrating their work in the city. The event will culminate in a shared act of worship and fellowship focused on what we share through prayer and service.

LoveBristol and Christians in Politics would like to invite you to the half day conference 'POLITICS - WHY BOTHER' at Woodlands Church Bristol on 19th February 2011.

Power. It’s a simple fantasy but think about it: “If I they put me in charge for a day...” Most of us have played this imaginary game one time or another. For some, it sparks a passion to make a difference. For others, the chasm between the fantasy and their reality is (literally) yawning. But hold on. Jesus understood that we all have power, over how we pay the newsagent, speak to our family or address the nurse who treats us. The way we use these mustard seeds, these dots of power: this is politics....

So come along and join LoveBristol and Christians in Poltics...as we explore what it means to be 'agents of change' in the 21st century.

The conference is aimed at people who love God and wish to explore ways of engaging with issues of social justice.

A relaxed interactive half day conference, the afternoon ends with tea and cakes and an opportunity to meet each other and share ideas and dreams.

The evening session begins at 7.30pm and features worship with LoveBristol worship leader Matt Crossman and teaching by Andy Flannagan from Christians in Politics.

We would love you to join us, if you wish to book this event or would like flyers please email julia@lovebristol.org

critical.mass regularly celebrates with the bread and wine, Jesus in communion: a way open and includive, accepting and fresh.

critical.mass follows a pattern committed to seeing the gifts of lie in the light of Christ; the wisdom that reveals a practice of reconciliation and resistance to injustice.

Linking our lived experience with contemplative insight moves us towards action.

So join critical.mass as it looks at stories of work and relationships, art and creation.

These stories provide new opportunities for renewal and transformation reflected in the Gospel – with themes connecting Biblical wisdom with daily life.

“It’s been a long nine years in the wilderness and I felt that I had come by an oasis tonight.” – comment by new participant.

We gather in Saint Stephen’s Cafe for a bowl of soup and discussion then move to the church for meditation, chanting, sounds, song and mass.
